This includes units of various sizes and value retail such as:
- doctor’s surgeries
- arts studios.
We either let these or sell on commercial lease terms.
As a housing association with a strong social purpose, any profit that we make from our portfolio of commercial units is invested back into our care and support services, and our development programme to build more, much needed affordable homes.
Our commercial lettings reflect current market trends and conditions and our team negotiates leases directly without using third party surveyors. The portfolio is managed to comply with legislation and in line with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors code of practice where appropriate.
When a unit becomes vacant, we actively consider all options to increase its value such as:
- continuing to let the unit
- sell the unit
- changing its use
When we market our units, we negotiate terms to lease completion using our in house commercial legal team.
