Visiting our care and support schemes

Important information for Care and Support customers and their families.

We would first like to offer reassurance to our customers and their families that we are acting quickly and following all advice from Government and the Care Quality Commission in relation to coronavirus. That means we’re putting all appropriate measures in place to protect the safety and welfare of our customers.

Under current Government rules,

  • every customer can nominate up to three named visitors who can visit regularly (this is in addition to their essential care giver). Named visitors should remain the same, barring an exceptional change in circumstances (visits at the end of life should always be supported);
  • the number of LFD tests that essential care givers should take each week, is increasing from two to three, which is on top of their weekly PCR test;
  • when customers go on a visit out of the care home, they should avoid visiting people who they don’t usually spend time with regularly and mixing with large groups of people indoors;
  • customers should have the COVID-19 booster, unless they are exempt, before taking part in a visit out of the care home if eligible;
  • customers should ask those they are visiting to undertake regular LFD testing, to have had their COVID-19 vaccinations including booster if eligible and to have a negative test result on the day of the visit out;
  • customers, who have had two doses of the vaccine, or who are exempt, are required to take an LFD test every other day for 10 days when they return from spending time out of the care home;
  • customers who have not had two doses of the vaccine and who are not exempt should isolate for 14 days following a visit out in order to mitigate the risk of bringing the new variant into the care home and infecting others.

Here's further guidance on how to stay safe and help prevent the spread.
